With the bZ4X, Toyota not only launched its first all-electric vehicle in 2022, but the SUV also provided the company's blueprint for the future development of new, all-electric SUVs: an ""EV DNA"" of authentic all-wheel-drive performance, efficient powertrain, and the essential Toyota quality, durability, and reliability. Toyota has sold more than 150,000 units of the bZ4X since its market launch, making it the third most popular model in its segment in Europe. Meanwhile, Toyota has continuously worked on further improving all aspects of the bZ4X to enhance its performance, efficiency, comfort, and driving pleasure. The new bZ4X is therefore much more than just a mid-cycle refresh. The electric powertrain has been comprehensively improved; new batteries offer more power, faster charging, and greater range. The top-of-the-line bZ4X will also now feature a 22 kW onboard charger. In the future, two battery options will be offered, with capacities of 57.7 kWh or 73.1 kWh. Customers can thus choose a version that best suits their driving needs and budget. Toyota guarantees that the battery will retain at least 70 percent of its original capacity for up to 10 years or up to a mileage of 250,000 kilometers. The compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient e-axles with integrated electric motor, transmission, and inverter have also been improved. Specific internal energy losses have been reduced, contributing to further increases in performance and efficiency.

The first Volkswagen model with the GTX label is now here: this abbreviation stands for a new level of sportiness from Volkswagen which will continue the tradition of the successful GTI, GTD and GTE models. The ID.4 GTX is therefore the new top-of-the-range model in the purely electric ID.4 model series. Its two electric motors – one each on the front and rear axles – combine to deliver a maximum output of 220 kW (299 PS) and work together as an electric dual-motor all-wheel drive. This technology offers a high level of driving stability and large power reserves – in short: more driving pleasure. The compact ID.4 GTX will be launched in Europe in Summer 2021. In Germany, it will start at an entry-level price of 50,415 euros, with customers being able to apply for a (net) grant of 7,500 euros.
SEAT is driving forward with its plans to electrify its vehicles and add even greater levels of efficiency. The process has already started, and now the brand is adding a second plug-in hybrid model to the range with the introduction of its first electrified SUV, the SEAT Tarraco e-HYBRID. The SEAT Tarraco is already an attractive proposition in the segment, and the introduction of a plug-in hybrid powertrain option will help the large SUV build on its position in the market. It brings a more balanced approach between dynamism and efficiency.
