Clouds of smoke rise over the south of Gaza City, seen from the Israeli side of the border. Since launching its air assault on Gaza City late last month, which preceded a ground offensive, the military has repeatedly told Palestinians to head south. Some 700,000 people have already fled since then, according to the army. IMAGES
