The fifth generation of the hybrid system is characterized by lighter and more compact components that contribute to higher efficiency and performance of the drive system while maintaining the brand's high reliability. It also features a new power control unit that reduces electrical losses by 14% in the 1.8-liter version and 6% in the 2.0-liter version. The unit operates more quietly than before. In the AWD-i model, it includes the rear power control unit, leading to further space and weight savings. The power control unit is directly integrated above a new transaxle gearbox that is 15% lighter than before due to the use of new materials and features new compact high-power motors. The use of low-viscosity oil also helps reduce internal friction and increase overall efficiency.
