Putin wins fifth term, aims to create buffer zone in Ukraine
Vladimir Putin won his fifth term as Russian President on Sunday, claiming 87% of the vote in a landslide victory. The re-elected 71-year-old has said he will not relent in his invasion of Ukraine, and plans to create a buffer zone along the border with Russia. This security zone would prevent long-range Ukrainian attacks and cross-border raids.
