La Ferrari Amalfi - Aerodynamics

Source: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The aerodynamic development of the Ferrari Amalfi is the result of a comprehensive and meticulous project, born from the close collaboration between the thermofluid dynamics department and the Ferrari Style Center. The process integrated CFD simulations, wind tunnel tests, and stylistic definitions in a shared path that led to the definition of a car that is as fascinating as it is functional. The result is a bodywork sculpted in detail, where each element has a specific function. Among these, the aerodynamic shoes positioned on the bottom in front of the front and rear wheels reduce resistance and improve efficiency, while a bypass - a duct that connects the front to the engine compartment - above the front headlights helps reduce overpressures and optimize cooling. The generation of vertical load at the front is entrusted to a pair of vortex generators, optimized in the wind tunnel, and two diffusers integrated into the splitter, which also improve the ventilation of the front brakes.
