The Urban Cruiser uses a newly developed electric drive unit with a compact eAxle layout - consisting of an electric motor, inverter, and reduction gear. The space-saving design minimizes intrusion into the interior - even in the all-wheel-drive model. Two battery options are available: The 49 kWh version (96 cells) is exclusively available with front-wheel drive and delivers 106 kW/144 hp with 193 Nm of torque - with a range of up to 344 km (WLTP combined). The 61 kWh version (120 cells) is available as a front-wheel or all-wheel-drive version. The FWD version offers 128 kW/174 hp, the AWD version 135 kW/184 hp and 307 Nm of torque, with a WLTP range of up to 426 km or 395 km. A thermal management system regulates the battery temperature and ensures stable performance even under heavy load or extreme temperatures. Other measures to increase efficiency include the automatic radiator grille and the also always standard heat pump. Fast DC charging (10-80%) takes about 45 minutes. With a three-phase 11 kW AC connection, a full charge (15-100%) takes about six hours, single-phase (7 kW) about 9.5 hours. The Urban Cruiser features a 'My Room' mode: During charging, the air conditioning and audio system can be used - ideal for breaks or waiting times.
