German Sebastian Hendel finishes 4th at Munich Marathon 2022

The Kenyan debutant Philimon Kipchumba crossed the finish line at the Olympic Stadium after 2:07:28 hours as the winner. Behind the 23-year-old were Mengistu Zelalem (Ethiopia) and Berhane Tesfaye (Eritrea), who also stayed well below the previous course record with times of 2:07:56 and 2:08:10, respectively. Sebastian Hendel (LG Braunschweig) finished fourth with a strong marathon debut in 2:10:37.
