Story Renault - Behind the Scenes of Sound Design with Jean-Michel Jarre - the Documentary

Artist, composer, and author, pioneer of electronic music and technology enthusiast, Jean-Michel Jarre is involved with Renault to develop the best possible sound experience in the brand's new vehicles. One of his first projects was the development of two types of sounds for Renault's electric and hybrid models in collaboration with Ircam and the group's sound design teams: the VSP (Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians), an external alert sound at low speed to warn pedestrians, and the sound of the welcome sequence when entering the vehicle. The documentary "Behind the Scenes of Sound Design" delves into the background of the work done and shows Jean-Michel Jarre's contribution as a creator but also as an engineer. It highlights an exceptional human collaboration and explains the numerous challenges of sound design, from initial considerations to the unveiling of these sounds on the Scénic E-Tech electric at the Munich 2023 show.
