The clear exterior design of the BMW Concept Skytop is intended to inspire wanderlust. Tautly stretched and muscled surfaces are structured by a few precise lines, directing the vehicle volume purposefully rearward. Winglets discreetly integrated into the door sills replace conventional door handles. Furthermore, aluminum wheels with delicate slats in the spoke area provide a distinctive appearance. From a bird's-eye view, the sharply arrow-shaped hood, the BMW-typical Sharknose design with illuminated kidney grille, and the tapered rear catch the eye. References to the legendary BMW Z8 roadster are deliberately chosen. Particularly striking is the defined bridge that extends from the hood through the interior to an aluminum strip placed on the tailgate, emphasizing the dynamically flowing design. The headlight design seamlessly integrates highly complex details into the overall concept. Their LED units, placed on milled aluminum supports, were specially developed for the BMW Concept Skytop and are based on the flattest technology and construction currently available for automotive headlights. The clear and minimalist execution succeeds in arranging all light functions in one installation space. The also slim rear lights of the BMW Concept complete the appearance.
